Best Cornwall Wedding Venues
A quick guide to 5 amazing wedding venues in Cornwall
I’ve lived in the South West all my life, and for the last five years been working as a wedding photographer as well. As such, I’ve seen a lot of what Cornwall has to offer for wedding venues and it’s fantastic! From modernised farms to beach side venues it has it all. When initially organising your wedding there’s a lot to think about, but typically number one on the list is where you want to hold your ceremony and/or reception. I love the variety that Cornwall has to offer, from a wedding photographer perspective it’s great to have different elements to work with. This guide is compiled of my own person experiences (and photos) as well as what other Cornwall wedding photographers have passed on.
Lusty Glaze is known for spectacular sunsets, secret caves and secluded cove, an informal yet atmospheric venue for your big day. It’s the only place you can marry on the beach in Cornwall. What’s great is the day can be built around your plans, fancy a bbq for the wedding breakfast? Go ahead! The beach is used by the public, however it can be reserved just for the wedding party itself. A consideration is access, if everyone can handle the cliff steps (the only way down) then you’re in for a fantastic day!
If you’re looking for a unique venue to hold your wedding ceremony, reception, or both, you can’t get much more iconic and memorable than the Eden Project. Instead of flying off to the Mediterranean, you can marry in the same distinctive atmosphere without even leaving Cornwall. The Rainforest Biome is the largest indoor jungle in the world and provides a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony. Our Mediterranean Biome recreates the sights and smells of this lovely region, with its bright blooms and fragrant aromas of herbs and citrus trees, guaranteeing an outdoor-style wedding regardless of the British weather. You can have exclusive hire of the biomes from 5pm and a huge effort is made to source food and drink from local suppliers.
Ceremonies at Trevenna capture all that is romantic about Cornwall with beautiful views and a relaxed countryside feel. You have the choice of where you say your vows, from the stylish Threshing Barn with its fusion of natural stone walls and contemporary sleek fittings, or outside in the open countryside under the beautiful Arbour. For those smaller intimate ceremonies the Shippon Barn with its glass log burner and beautiful beams works well. Trevenna is fully licensed as an exclusive use wedding venue in Cornwall for civil ceremonies giving you the freedom of holding your ceremony and celebrations all in one beautiful location. 120 guests is the optimum number for formal dining at Trevenna with 150 as the maximum number for your evening celebrations.
Tucked-away in the Cornish countryside, near Truro, you’ll find Nancarrow Farm. The farm is an atmospheric venue in all seasons. In the spring, summer and autumn the courtyard is filled with the colours and scents of flowers and herbs; guests can relax on picnic blankets on the lawns, or find a shady spot next to the idyllic millpond. In winter, a large wood burner in the Oak Barn adds warmth and atmosphere, whilst gentle lighting creates a magical feel. Throughout the year, our wood-fired kitchen and outdoor fireplace add to the atmosphere. With 5 converted barns it can seat between 75 & 130 guests, and everyone loves the food from the award winning kitchen.
