Best Cornwall Wedding Venues

A quick guide to 6 amazing wedding venues in Cornwall

I've lived in the South West all my life, and for the last seven years been working as a wedding photographer as well. As such, I've seen a lot of what Cornwall has to offer for wedding venues and it's fantastic! From modernised farms to beach side venues it has it all. When initially organising your wedding there's a lot to think about, but typically number one on the list is where you want to hold your ceremony and/or reception. I love the variety that Cornwall has to offer, from a photographer perspective it's great to have different elements to work with. I'm based as a wedding photographer Devon but around half my weddings are in Cornwall. This is a guide compiled of weddings I've photographed and my experience as well as that of the couples and guests...

Lusty Glaze

Lusty Glaze is known for spectacular sunsets, secret caves and secluded cove, an informal yet atmospheric venue for your big day. It's the only place you can marry on the beach in Cornwall. You can see my Lusty Glaze wedding photography here. What's great is the day can be built around your plans, fancy a bbq for the wedding breakfast? Go ahead! The beach is used by the public, however it can be reserved just for the wedding party itself. A consideration is access, if everyone can handle the cliff steps (the only way down) then you're in for a fantastic day!

Prussia Cove

If you’re looking for a true Cornish coastal experience, with the benefit of private hire, you need look no further than Prussia Cove. Also known as Porth en Alls, up to to 33 guests can stay on the onsite accommodation, enjoy an outside courtyard ceremony and hold their wedding reception in the marquee overlooking the sea. It's a blank canvas for couples to apply their own style and provide travelling guests a fantastic place to stay and enjoy the true Cornwall. Caerhays Estate

Caerhays Estate is a vast and beautiful wedding venue near St Austell, Cornwall. This particular wedding I photographed was at Beach Meadow which overlooks Porthluney Cove. For couples looking for big weddings, Caerhays can hold 250 guests. With a great wedding team in place, and amazing Cornish coast as your back drop, couples get to pick their favourite suppliers and create their own wedding in their own way. If not local to the area a lot of couples utilise The Vean. A great accommodation choice, and for bridal preparations, to get the day started right. You can see more of Caerhays Estate wedding photography here to see how this wedding day looked.

Nancarrow Farm

Tucked away in the Cornish countryside, near Truro, you'll find Nancarrow Farm. The farm is an atmospheric venue in all seasons. In the spring, summer and autumn the courtyard is filled with the colours and scents of flowers and herbs; guests can relax on picnic blankets on the lawns, or find a shady spot next to the idyllic millpond. In winter, a large wood burner in the Oak Barn adds warmth and atmosphere, whilst gentle lighting creates a magical feel. Throughout the year, our wood-fired kitchen and outdoor fireplace add to the atmosphere. With 5 converted barns it can seat between 75 & 130 guests, and everyone loves the food from the award winning kitchen. I'm lucky to have visited Nancarrow numerous times, click through to see my Nancarrow Farm wedding photography to see what it has to offer.

Launcells Barton

House at Launcells Barton

Whether you are planning a civil or a church wedding ceremony, Launcells Barton offers up multiple settings to make your big day even more special. Situated near Bude, it's available for exclusive hire and can hold 200 guests. Despite being easy to access it feels totally secluded and surrounded by stunning landscapes. The owners, Lara and Matthew, have done an amazing job in renovating the barns. So much so they got married there themselves! the team do a great job of running the day, creating a relaxed atmosphere to the whole event. If you'd like to see a full day, you can see my Launcells Barton wedding photography.

Carbis Bay estate

Carbis Bay Hotel has a lot to offer couples planning a Cornwall wedding. Sat right alongside the stunning beach the hotel has multiple ceremony room options and great accommodation for guests to stay. With the Godrevy Room, the Wedding Hut, Gannet Inn and the beach itself it may be the most versatile choice for couples planning their big day. The reception room is bright and welcoming, perfect for a summer wedding. This wedding of Hannah and Joe was a lot of fun and you can see their Carbis Bay wedding photography here.
