Exeter Castle Wedding Photography

Rachael & Jonny

This was the perfect way to end my wedding season, with the lovely Rachael & Jonny and their wonderful Exeter Castle wedding. The word 'unique' gets used a lot in weddings, but this truly was a one of one wedding day. The added treat that the entire wedding day would be in and around Exeter, my hometown, was special. I so rarely get to work in the city itself.

I started my morning with Rachael and her friends getting ready, which included one of my favourite photos from the day when Rachael walked downstairs to see her dad in the dress for the first time. It was great to see the MUA maestro that is Nicola - www.nicolaredmanmakeup.com - working her magic again.

Exeter Castle Wedding Day

I arrived at Exeter Castle to find Jonny greeting guests in the ceremony room. The room looked amazing with the low winter light flooding in and the great floral display provided by Charlotte Hogg Flowers - www.charlottehogg.co.uk. It was a lovely ceremony, and you could clearly see how much these two meant to everyone in attendance. After some confetti in the courtyard it was time for the super fun wedding walk through town to catch the bus to the next stop, Exeter Quay.

On a dry but chilly winter's day we grabbed some family photos by the water's edge and enjoyed drinks and speeches at the Quayside Distillery before moving across the road to Topsham Brewery for the evening reception. This is where we saw the night out with some great music and cake. The early nightfall provided s a great opportunity for some night portraits with the quay itself as the backdrop. This was such a fun wedding and here's a selection of Rachael & Jonny's Exeter Castle wedding...
