This amazing wedding day was in the calendar for a long time, and I was so excited to make my way to The Pear Tree Purton for Katey & Mike's big day. This was my first visit as a Pear Tree Purton wedding photographer, and what a venue it is. We had the full Spring experience, from sun, rain, wind and rainbows to enjoy. Katey and Mike planned a wonderful day, what wasn't on the cards however were the two broken wrists a few weeks before the wedding. But if there was ever a bride to have an obstacle like that to overcome and enjoy her day it's Katey.
I started my morning with Mike and his ten groomsmen, yes you read that correctly, ten. Mike is a popular man indeed! Katey and her bridesmaids were getting ready upstairs where the Prosecco was already flowing, it was a great start to the day.

With the weather as unpredictable as it was the ceremony took place inside, which with hindsight was absolutely the right call. It was a joyous ceremony and one that had so much love and laughter to photograph. I had to work hard to keep the camera stable as Mike cracked a joke mid vows.
After some brilliant speeches, and as the weather broke for a moment, we took a minute to get some portraits around the grounds before heading back in for a fun party to see the night away. With some brilliant music and dance floor karaoke on the go it was a great end to a superb wedding day.
About The Wedding Venue
With more than a 700 year old history, plus a renovation in 2019 with the addition of the orangery, The Pear Tree Purton is the true definition of a wedding venue with a blend of old and new. It's an exclusive hire venue found on the edge of Swindon in Wiltshire. From the perspective of a wedding photographer it's a superb venue that offers a lot of versatility. This wedding is a prime example where the planned outside ceremony was quickly and beautifully changed to the indoor option, which also later became the makeshift studio for the family portraits. With 7 acres of lands, capacity for up to 200 guests to attend and on site accommodation it's a wedding venue of dreams.
