Mount Edgcumbe Wedding Photography

Alex & Lawrence

(Updated 2024)

I was so excited when Alex and Lawrence booked me to photograph their wedding at Mount Edgcumbe. This was my first visit as a wedding photographer at Mount Edgcumbe, and with what Alex and Lawrence had planned it all seemed to perfect. Mount Edgcumbe is a historic country house, literally on the edge of Cornwall high on a hill top. The ceremony was held within the country house itself and the wedding reception was down the hill in the Orangery Cafe.

Wedding Photographer at Mount Edgcumbe Country House

I started my day on the boat! A wedding first for me. Parking on the Plymouth side of the river I took the ferry across to meet with Alex and her bridesmaids at Mount Edgcumbe Country House. I was greeted by the lovely Marie-Claire who co-ordinates the weddings. This was an international wedding of sorts, with guests travelling from all over for the wedding day. After some champagne and watching the guests arrive the bridal party started to make their entrance. It was here they heard about some family from France who had a delayed flight and might not make the ceremony itself. Alex and her bridal party made their entrance down the grand staircase for what was a beautiful ceremony.

The delayed party made it just in time for the confetti, and guests enjoyed some sunshine in the beautiful Mount Edgcumbe garden. We were treated to a Land Rover journey down the hill to the beautifully decorated Orangery where guests enjoyed the wedding breakfast. We took advantage of the last bit of sunshine for some family photos and portraits. I knew from the morning festivities that this was a lovely fun bunch of people and the dance floor did not disappoint. With some fancy dress and spilt trousers it was so much fun to photograph. After a super fun wedding day I took the last ferry back home with a big smile on my face. Here’s a selection from Alex and Lawrence’s Mount Edgcumbe wedding…
