10 Years in 100 Photos
Ten Years As A Wedding Photographer

Ten years. It doesn't sound right, how could it be? But it is, I checked. A decade of being a wedding photographer in Devon. Madness. It's now the longest phase of my career and I'm so grateful for it. If it ended today I'm certain I would look back in time to come and consider it the best job I'd ever had. But it isn't stopping now, I love this job more than ever and can't wait to get started again this season.
Technically I'm a bit late, as my first ever solo wedding was November 2014, with this upcoming 2025 season being my tenth full year as a wedding photographer. I naively quit my previous job in the summer of 2014 (not a great time to do it for any aspiring wedding photographers out there!), and with barely a website and close to zero wedding experience I thought I'd test the waters in this unknown industry. Ten years on this job has given me so much in the people I've met, places I've travelled and experiences captured.
A Decade Of Devon Wedding Photography
From intimate elopements to destination weddings, big party marquess to being told to stand two metres apart, it's been a roller coaster of a journey. In some attempt to summarise it all I've gone back through the thousands of images I've taken and picked out 100 photos that sum it all up for me. This is ten years of work. I had to pause when I wrote that. Ten years of work collated in this simple blog post.
I can tell you a story from every image featured below, which includes photos from my very first wedding to my most recent, and every season in between. In those ten years I've seen trends come and go and I'd be naive to try and make this all about what's popular in 2025 because there will be something new going viral next month. My focus has always been on people, that's where the joy is.
It's been an interesting exercise to sit down and work my way through the catalogues of photos. Remembering times of excitement when trying a new technique and it worked, or times of annoyance when it didn't. These aren't necessarily the 'hero' shots you would typically see on a home page, but the moments when everything clicked. The moment I felt I grew as a photographer, or I leaned into the type of photos I'm after or very simply just made me smile.
Thank you to everyone over the years who have booked me for their big day, and to those who have supported me by sharing my work and recommending me to friends. I truly appreciate it. Here's 10 years in 100 photos...
