Tips For a Devon Marquee Wedding

I’ve been fortunate to photograph lots of marquee weddings, as such I have a few tips on how to get the best out of your day. For a Saturday wedding, you’ll find most Marquee companies will like to set up on the Wednesday or Thursday. So access to the site beforehand is critical.

With that comes power supply, how will you power the lights and speakers throughout the day. This most often comes in the form on a power generator. This is an important aspect when considering your budget, especially as most opt for a back up generator. Placement of the generators is an important factor, due to the noise they create. If there is a convenient hedgerow, or similar, to hide the generators then that’s a great option.

The marquee site location is unique to each wedding. Sometimes it’s provided by an event team, others have the option of someone’s private land. It’s a boring but practical topic, and it’s parking. With weather being a consideration it’s important to have a clear parking location for guests. You don’t want cars spinning mud on someone’s lovely farm land.
