Speaking At NineDots Hangout 2026

Speaking at a Wedding Photography Education Event

This week I had the lovely opportunity to speak to a room full of wedding photographers at the NineDots Hangout 2026 in London. I was invited to speak about the core value of my business, which is being couple/client focused. The how and why I run a wedding photography business this way, why it’s best for the couples who book me, and why it’s helped me last as a wedding photographer in Devon for the last 12 years.

It was an absolute blast to take to the stage and talk about something that I care a lot about. The centre of it being about being more than a technician with a camera and making things easier for the couple, from the initial enquiry through to the final gallery delivery. If you’re interested, you can read a detailed account of my approach to wedding photography here.

One specific example being why I only offer unlimited coverage. A lot of photographers prefer to provide set hours, because it’s self contained and also gives an opportunity to upsell. I have no interest in that, I advocated for a frictionless journey. Prices listed for everyone to see with no upselling at all is my preference, because that’s how I would like to be treated as a prospective client. It was an also a great opportunity to see the other speakers at the event and gather some ideas for myself for the upcoming season.
