Tunnels Beaches Wedding Photography FAQ

Being one of the most popular coastal venues in North Devon, you’ll find a wide range of photography rates. You can view my wedding pricing here. I choose to keep things entirely transparent with one simple price for unlimited coverage. This is especially useful for Tunnels Beaches weddings, as I can be there from early morning preps at the on-site properties like Runnymede House, all the way until your evening beach party.

Yes, I am proud to be an officially recommended wedding photographer for Tunnels Beaches. Over the last 12 years documenting weddings across Devon, I’ve shot here several times in all types of coastal weather. I know the venue, the team, the flow of the day, and exactly how the sun sets over the cliffs, meaning you can fully relax knowing your photography is in experienced hands.

I opt to always carry two identical cameras with me – Sony a9 cameras for the fellow camera geeks out there. That with two different prime lenses (plus some extras in the bag) provide a variety of different frames throughout the day. For light I utilise natural light until it’s not longer available, when I pop the odd small flash up here and there.

A typical full-day wedding at Tunnels Beaches yields between 600–900 fully edited, high-resolution images. I don’t place a hard limit on what I shoot or deliver. Whether it’s candid moments of your guests cooling off in the sea, emotional reactions during the speeches, or twilight portraits down by the famous tidal pool at blue hour, I deliver every single photograph that beautifully and honestly reflects the true energy of your day.

As a North Devon coastal venue, the weather can be unpredictable, but Tunnels Beaches is brilliantly designed for it, especially after the 2026 refurb to the venue. If the weather takes us inside, I adjust my documentary approach by setting up discreet off-camera bounce flashes. This allows me to mimic natural window light against the glass without causing harsh, distracting reflections, keeping your indoor photos looking bright, candid, and completely un-staged.

About the Wedding Venue

Tunnels Beaches is one of the most popular wedding venues in Devon, and for good reason. Most who book are seeking a relaxed and fun wedding day, which also happens to be the typical weddings I photograph. Not many venues can claim to have their own private beach! Despite its life beginning in the 1820’s, Tunnels has a modern feeling to the whole venue. Couples have great flexibility to input their own style into the day.

Couples can invite up to 120 guests for the day, up to 160 for the evening. Most who get married at Tunnels Beaches don’t live in the region and travel from all over the UK to get married here. With that there is self catering luxury accommodation available. There are 4 great properties available, all right next to the venue, with Runnymede House being the newest addition.

Tunnels Beaches is one of those rare venues that feels both intimate and dramatic, a natural amphitheatre framed by cliffs and sea. It’s a photographer’s dream, offering endless opportunities for creative, emotional storytelling. If you’re planning your wedding here and looking for a Devon wedding photographer who knows the venue well, get in touch to chat about your plans.
