I got my camera bag ready, very excited for my third visit for some Upton Barn wedding photography. Gemma and Jason travelled to Devon to hold their wedding at Upton Barn, and knowing what great facilities and lovely staff they have I knew they wouldn't be disappointed. Gemma, an event planner by trade, pieced together a brilliant day. I started my day with some preparations, held at the nearby lodges, with hip hop music vibes playing throughout, always a great start.
The Wedding Day
The forecast was playing tricks with the ceremony plans. Plan A was to hold the ceremony in the lovely outside grounds, and a last minute call was made to keep the chairs outside. I made my way to the garden to capture arrivals, and all was looking well. Then of course, the heavens opened for Gemma's entrance. The ceremony was almost moved inside, but the guests made their support clear, outside we stood, in the rain. The look on Gemma's face said it all, despite the downpour, she was beaming smiles to see Jason at the end of the aisle.
The day continued in such spirit. So much laughter throughout. Not even a spilt drink on the wedding dress dampened the mood. We took advantage of the summer colours in the garden for some wedding portraits and headed into the barn for the speeches. Filled with laughter and love it was clear to see how much this day meant to the lovely bride and groom with their family and friends around them.
