Saunton Sands Wedding Photography

Caroline & Ray

Earlier this year I had the pleasure of capturing Caroline and Ray's wedding at Saunton Sands in North Devon. Having met Kaz (Caroline) a few weeks previously I drove north full of excitement, from the wedding theme to the plans for the day itself, I was expecting great things, but little did I know how great it would be!

With everything being held at Saunton Sands Hotel I popped up to Kaz's room to capture some of the preparations when Kaz discovered her watch was 20 minutes late and the last minute rush kicked in!

The ceremony started at 11.30, which meant everything else planned for the day was earlier compared to a more traditional wedding schedule. The huge benefit of that was that everyone got to enjoy the AMAZING weather, including taking the time to pop down to the beach at sunset.

As a photographer, trying to get the best images, there are lots of variables to consider. Light is super important! Having such a brilliant sunset to work with was simply good fortune, however what is just as important are the people you are photographing. Kaz and Ray make photos easy! Completely relaxed in each other's company, and complimenting the golden hour with real moments.

A truly brilliant wedding day, filled with lovely people and a joy to photograph. Congrats Kaz and Ray!!

"So the brief from the 'wife' was to have natural/documentary style photos of our wedding day. So I did what every good prospective husband would do and... went to work and let her find one! She found a corker however! Those of you who are looking for a stunning set of memories from your special day need look no further than Lee. He captured the atmosphere beautifully, blended in seamlessly to the wedding party, was patient, funny and an all round top guy. We had the perfect day, immortalised by a first rate photographer and a true gent. Thank you Lee."
