Let me first provide some context. It's half term week, the wife and kids have been away for a few days and I've been struck with man flu, but I soon perked up when I'd found out I'd won a Fearless Award for this image!
If you don't already know, Fearless Photographers is a community of wedding photographers across the world. It includes some of the world's best wedding photographers, and every so often they put a collection of images together that represent the best work out there. Roughly the top 1% make the cut, and this, one of my favourites, made the final selection!
As the name 'Fearless' suggests, it's not made of your 'typical' wedding photographs. Instead it's rewarding and challenging people to create something different. Whether it's a portrait or natural moment it tends to be an impactful image, made to make you connect with the subject or moment.
This is one frame from Madi and Alex'a wedding last year at Bridwell in Devon, you can see more about their wedding day here. Thanks to their amazing wedding day I'm now 1 of 10 Fearless award winners in the South West!
I'm so happy to have got this award. I don't pay attention to many awards or lists in the wedding industry, and as ever, everything is subjective. However it's nice when your work is recognised, and of course, congrats to the other winners :-)
