It's been a while since I last blogged about a wedding I photographed, so here it is, and what a great wedding it was. I knew I was in for a good day when you hear Smashing Pumpkins on the playlist before the ceremony, a musical theme that continued throughout the day.
Viv and James got married at Muddifords Court Country House near Collumpton. It was my second time there this year, and it didn't disappoint.
Viv and James' guests were great photo subjects, smiling and laughing from beginning to end. I have to mention in particular James' groomsmen, who were fantastic. One of my wedding highlights this year is seeing Ray, one of the best men, go into an extreme (but brief) mode of panic when he thought James had bolted out the door at the very last second (he was just shutting the door). If you're reading this gents, you were great at keeping the day running smoothly.
There is an element of luck when trying to get the best out of your photos, and we certainly had that when the rain stopped just before we got outside for group shots, helping to show off those autumn colours in the lovely grounds of Muddifords. Being late October the evening comes around quickly, but lots of people were in the mood for dancing. By this time the band were in full flow, and the music playlist, including Steps and Bewitched, was on hold. There's no judgment here :-)
A great wedding day with plenty of emotion on display, which I hope you can see in the below images...
